ABSTRACT

The problem of postoperative pain following single-session endodontic treatment is one with which clinicians are very familiar.
The purpose of this study was to review the results of previous studies into the incidence of postoperative pain following single-session root canal treatment. This assessment provides clinical support in the decision-making process during the treatment of teeth with vital or necrotic pulps, either by hand or powered rotary instruments.
