ABSTRACT

Focal fibrocartilaginous dysplasia is a benign bone lesion known to cause deformities; we report our first case in Costa Rica with this condition, 5 years old female, was recognized radiologically with focal cortical indentation seen in the distal end of the ulna with antero medial bowing and dysplasia. The radial head was dislocated postero laterally. We did treatment by ulnar lengthening using an external fixator and Osteotomy which corrected both the ulnar deformity and reduced the dislocated radial head, plus we added a Kirschner pin to maintain the lengthening direction. We report good results ortopediaafter 6 months post surgery with no radial head dislocation and good ulnar lengthening, no loss of range of movement.
