ABSTRACT

We describe herein the case of a 44-year-old man with a mitral periprosthetic leak, which was closed with an Amplatzer muscular ventricular septal defect occluder. Failure device closure of leak with persistent severe regurgitation and impingement of the mechanical mitral prosthesis were noted by echocardiography. Both complications were successfully treated by surgery.
