ABSTRACT

In the year 2004, The Ministery of Public Health, The Pan American Health Organization (OPS) and the Regional Office of the World Health Organization (OMS) wrote a document regarding the health of the senior citizens in Costa Rica. As a result of this document, and comparing the situation of our senior citizens with studies in Spain and Cuba about their life quality, it raised the idea of knowing their perception of their quality of life, taking in consideration that there self perception influences the experience of a successful aging process. For these studies, an instrument that permits to know what is the perception of 10 old people, about their life quality is made, starting with the concept integrated by objective and subjective factors.
