The Mexican Journal of Biomedical Engineering (MJBE) has been published for more than 30 years, has gained an important tradition and is recognized as the ideal forum to communicate the results obtained by the scientific and professional communities in this and related disciplines. This prestige has been the result of the hard work of many distinguished researchers and professionals and, especially, those who have participated as Editors in Chief. During the members’ meeting carried out at the last Mexican Conference, the change of the Editor in Chief of the MJBE was voted, and members of SOMIB have confided me with that honor for the next two years. From the beginning of MJBE, I have actively participated as author and referee of numerous articles and now I am establishing a compromise to continue giving my best effort and dedication to the activities that the Editor in Chief must carry out, according to the bylaws of our Society.
