ABSTRACT

A case of polyarteritis nodosa in a 39-year-old patient who arrived at emergency room with acute precordial typical pain of ischemic involvement is reported, the coronary angiogram was normal and scintigraphy whit Gallium 67, revealed diffuse capture of the radionuclide compatible with myiocarditis, that was later confirmed with endomyocardial biopsy.
The etiology of myocarditis is predominantly viral and less frequent secondary to rheumatic disease, as in polyarteritis nodosa, where the clinical myocarditis is extremely unusual.
