Epidemiology of reproductive risk preconceptional of genetic cause. Northern Polyclinic, Ciego de Avila city.

ABSTRACT

An observational descriptive study was carried out with the aim to characterize epidemiologically the reproductive risk preconceptional of genetic cause in the North Polyclinic of Ciego de Avila city, between April 2009 and April 2010. The universe consisted of 1600 women with reproductive preconceptional risks; the sample consisted of 900 women with reproductive risks preconceptional of genetic cause that met the inclusion criteria. Preconceptional generic cause predominated for chromosomal abnormalities before conception. More than half of patients were not controlled and the main cause of this decontrol was the lack of risk, with greater representation of women in the group not controlled. It is recommended to undertake actions to continue to prepare professionals in the Primary Health Care on preconception genetic risk management and increase the active investigation of this at the offices of family doctors.
