ABSTRACT

The making of a very low cost manikin made with easily simple and replaceable elements (disposable plastic bottle and jug, spring that can be compressed 5 cm under a 15-20 kg pressure, metal strips, wooden discs, bolts and nuts, rubber balloon and indelible painting) to train volunteers of poor populations in basic pediatric CPR is presented. An additional benefit to consider is the involvement of trainees in the construction of the dummy.
