ABSTRACT
Porcelain laminate veneers are considered a
minimally-invasive treatment for the rehabilitation
of anterior teeth. They are an ideal alternative
for young patients who demand esthetics.
Case report. Following orthodontic treatment,
an 17-year-old male patient came to the Master’s
in Oral Rehabilitation Clinic of the Benemérita
Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in
order to have veneers applied to his anterior
teeth for esthetic purposes.
Diagnostic. Microdontia in 12, 22, incisal edge
reduction in 11, 21 and cusps of 13 and 23;
flat vestibular surfaces in 11 and 21, gingivitis.
Treatment: Gingival contouring was performed
from canine to canine on both maxilla and
mandible. Preliminary impressions were taken
for the diagnostic wax-up and to allow a clinical
mock-up to be made. Subsequently, a final
impression was taken using polyether; following
the manufacture of the veneers, these were
then cemented into place.
Conclusion. The aim of minimal invasion was
achieved, as were the desired results in terms
of esthetics and functionality.
