ABSTRACT

Phytophotodermatitis is a dermal condition people are in which contact with any extract of plants or fruits when exposed to sunlight. These patients develop a brownish-red coloration in places where they were exposed. We present a case of an infant who manifested this dermal condition after being held in the hands of an adult who previously had contact with a lemon on his hand. Approximately 12 h after exposure to lemon juice and sunlight, the infant appeared to have a brownish red pigment on his left hemithorax.
