ABSTRACT

Hemangioma is the most common vascular tumor found in children. It is benign and auto-limited, but it has great psychosocial repercussion in children and their family. There are several therapeutic options that must be individually considered for each patient, according to the particular characteristics of the hemangioma to be treated: size, number, dimensions, compromise of vital functions and any association with other syndromes. One of the most important challenges in the treatment o skin hemangiomas is to minimize the complications and the aesthetic problem they represent.
