ABSTRACT

Background: Uterine fibromas, also known as myomas or leiomyomas are the most common benign tumors of the upper female genital tract, can become large, grow slowly and usually require no treatment. Case report: A 33 year-old-patient with six weeks of pregnancy who begins to show dark spots of blood and lower abdomen pain. An 180 mm myoma highly vascular with a thick pedicle was detected by ultrasonography and laparoscopy. It was decided to perform myomectomy with the consent of the patient. Conclusions: The patient progressed succesfully and attended prenatal visits every 15 days up to 39.6 weeks, when she had an elective caesarean section.
