Malherbe’s giant epicraneal pylomatrixoma. Presentation of a case

ABSTRACT

Background: Malherbe’s pylomatrixoma as a tumor of the scalp has an atypical location, and rarely measures more than 20 cm. Case presentation: A 63-year-old man with a history of moderate mental retardation was admitted for surgical treatment once seen at the emergency ward of Camilo Cienfuegos General University Hospital of Sancti Spiritus, during an episode of bleeding from the injury. The biopsy result was a Malherbe’s epicranial pylomatrixoma. Conclusions: After surgical treatment the patient recovered successfully.
