ABSTRACT

The clinical records of 38 cases of 143 consultations granted during pandemic influenza by ASW-H1N1 all of them have been treated in the Hospital Los Angeles of Puebla in 2009. Were reviewed to ascertain their clinical and epidemiological characteristics and correlate this information with other authors of this country. The diagnosis was made in all through the evidence: quick test by monoclonal antibodies against influenza virus type A/B and then confirmed by the «chain reaction of the polymerase» during the period between September 17, 2009 at the 21 April 2010. The predominant symptoms were fever, odynophagia, nasal congestion with headache and cough. All of these were treated with one of the antiviral medications suggested and recommended by the CDC (oseltamivir) with excellent response to treatment; in them were taken different measures of prevention and containment of the disease.
