ABSTRACT

The objective of this study is to identify and examine the central elements of Freud’s work which constitute the basis for the development of a psychoanalysis based theory of social psychology. For this reason, this analysis builds on Freud’s concepts of subject, the social matter and the quality of the psychic event, in order to propose a number of parameters which serve as heuristic traces for the validation of social psychology and which articulate along: two knowledges: the knowledge of the unconscious and the knowledge about the unconscious; two discourses: the theoretical discourse and the clinical discourse; three dimensions: transference, interpretation and theory; four spaces: the intra-subjective space, the inter-subjective space, the trans-subjective space and the trans-generational space; and two spheres of research and intervention: the group and the institution.
