The effect of new communication technologies on the text production in university students: exploratory study

ABSTRACT

At the present, technology and cibercomunication have seminal impact on human life. Although significant contributions have been made, consistent data is missing in recent handbooks of new technologies and psychological issues. In this sense the main aim of this study was to assess the possible relationship among spending time on web and social networks on writing a general essay in college students. Method. Group 1: three subjects who spend a lot of time on web and social networks, Group 2: three subjects who spend little time on them. Composing an essay in a file of a portable personal computer was the target of this research, information search was allowed from the web. Time on web, on social networks, spelling mistakes and emoticons and use were recorded. Although weren't concluding, data shows an inverse relationship among spending time on web and social networks and composing an own essay.
