ABSTRACT

Cerebral arteriovenous malformation is the most common intracranial vascular malformation. The disease is a complex composed of arteries and veins with abnormal development. It is frequently diagnosed in young adults between 20 and 40 years old. A case of a left thalamic arteriovenous malformation Spetzler subcorticoventricular Martin IV is presented, in which treatment with embolization up to 40% of the injury was started. Due to its complexity, surgery was not considered part of the treatment, so we assessed the condition for further radiosurgery.
