ABSTRACT

Meckel’s diverticulum is the most common abnormality of the midgut, resulting from an incomplete obliteration of the vitelline duct to the 5-7 week of embryological development. Most patients are asymptomatic, but can become complicated, resulting in diverticulitis, bowel obstruction and more often bleeding.
