ABSTRACT

Psychological care for children with disabilities demands the use of effective intervention techniques that allow the psychic development of the disabilities both children and their parents, enabling a proper emotional process that is reflected in healthy patients psycho development and its integration to different social contexts, from the home, the school and society. This work proposes the use of stories as a psychotherapeutic strategy that can be used in the emotional management of children with disabilities, which is to complement the play, drawing and other techniques commonly used in child psychotherapy. There are modalities of social stories, stories with therapeutic use and the creation of Tales from the play observed in children sessions. Briefly describes the way in which have been employed in the service of clinical psychology of the Teletón Child Rehabilitation Centre. Although clinical experience reveals that the story is a useful tool in child Psychotherapy since as some authors, it allows addressing different issues and conflicts in a safe manner; we need to have research supporting its usefulness, evaluating the impact on the persons to whom it is directed.
