ABSTRACT

The current project aims to raise some basic concepts in line with Humanistic Psychology, which are also used by the Positive Psychology, but with a different viewpoint (the scientific one). We will review in a monographic way, terms like self-actualization, happiness, attitudes, positive emotions, personal fortress, freedom and the meaning of life. Also, we try to acknowledge the importance that both schools give to the basic conception of the person as a holistic, full, and unique human being, able to choose his own Destiny. Therefore, the relations between both opinions are presented, regardless of the utilized epistemology. Finally, and within the conceptual framework of the analyzed terms, we expose different "positive results" based on experimental research, which highlight the importance of conceiving Psychology as a human beings field of study with dynamism and unique totalities.
