ABSTRACT

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are a group of disorders characterized by problems of socialization, difficulties in communication, and the development of restricted interest patterns. This symptomatology is usually associated with several behavioral problems, and these are relevant factors in explaining the impact of care on the health of caregivers. This relationship is modulated by variables such as coping strategies. This research reviews the main studies carried out with informal caregivers of people with ASD and analyses the most important factors. The objective is to delimit the current state of the question and propose future research.
