ABSTRACT

Desmoplastic fibroblastoma is an uncommon benign fibrous neoplasm. We inform the case of a thirty-five year old woman with a 2 year history of a subcutaneous tumor in the right arm which measured 10 cm in its largest axis. It was clinically diagnosed as extra-abdominal fibromatosis and amputation was proposed. Histologic examination showed a well demarcated hipocellular tumor composed of benign-appearing fibroblasts embedded in a fibrous stroma. Mitosis, calcification or necrosis were absent. Local resection was done and there has been no recurrence of the tumor.
