Science production in the Informatics Science University

ABSTRACT

The production of new knowledges is the main result from the university to the nation. The inclusion of Universidad de Ciencias Informaticas in the Ranking Iberoamericano SIR 2010 was analyzed. This university was placed in the 15 position among the Cuban universities. An under registration of the publications from the university, the priority of the commercial information over the scientific one, fear to loose the know-how of their products and the poor visibility of the published articles were the founded reasons of this location. Proper accreditation, perform scientific production and scientometrics workshops and to improve the visibilitly of Revista Cubana de Informática Médica were recommended to improve this actual position.
