ABSTRACT
The cosmetic surgery is one of the best examples of the current
health empowerment. Aesthetic surgical interventions have been
criticized because it exposes the healthy individual to an unnecessary
risk. In the modern society the body has turned into a
beauty depository with a commercial value. In the published bioethics
papers, the cosmetic problem pointed their attention on
the freedom, autonomy and the distributive justice. Mexico occupies
the fifth world place of cosmetic surgeries. The vulnerability
is an inherent condition of the man in his existence and
marks the limit of the human dignity. UNESCO agrees that some
populations are more inclined to vulnerability. The aim of this
work is to demonstrate that those who wish to make a physical
change had give up to social coercion and psychological problems.
