ABSTRACT

The health of the Mexican population is influenced by several demographic transitions and has a direct impact on the health of the population, which is reflected in the increase of chronic degenerative diseases, as it has reduced the infant mortality rate and increased life expectancy. Although Mexican health system has implemented various campaigns for prevention, treatment and control of infectious and chronic degenerative diseases, it is necessary to generate a transformation in the promotion and prevention strategies to shift from the curative to preventive medicine.
