ABSTRACT

Laparoscopic surgery is focused toward the development of less invasive technics. With the technological advance it is possible to introduce in the abdominal cavity multiple instruments through oneself port. We describe the technique of laparoscopic appendectomy only with three access ports through a simple umbilical incision, using conventional instruments in a 33 year-old patient with abdominal pain about 18 hours of evolution. The intervention was carried out in a successful way, without complications during the procedure and after surgery. The patient left the hospital 12 hours later of having operated. The apendicectomy in mature patients through a single incision is a trusted technique and easily achievable when appropriate training exists.
