ABSTRACT

An exhaustive literature revi ew on the anatomy of the cornea was carried out, with the purpose of deepening in the predisposing main factors of the corneal ulcer, its causes, clinical pattern, clinical course, complications and treatment. The disease was conceptually analyzed and it was proposed to include in its concept the clinical method as premise. At this moment, the cure of these ulcers constitute s a health problem to be solved in Santiago de Cuba province, since the conventional treatments not always allow a stable clinical course of the cases diagnosed, reason why the necessity of looking for drugs and therapeutic alternatives to treat these patients emerges.
