In 2013, the Hospital Infantil de México Federico Gómez (HIMFG) received the sad news of the passing of one of its “favorite sons.” Juan Luis Gonzalez Cerna was born in Mexico City on April 10, 1927. He earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and trained as a pediatrician and pediatric surgeon at the HIMFG, developing the technical skills and agile academic thinking that characterized his personality.
