ABSTRACT

Criptococcosis is a potencially fatal fungal disease. It is caused by one of two species; Criptococcus neoformans and Criptococcus Gatti. It is defining opportunistic infections for AIDS. The prevalence of criptococcosis has been increasing over the past 20 years for many reasons, including the increases in incidence of AIDS and the expanded use of inmunossuppresive drugs. Criptococcal meningitis is believed to result from dissemination of the ungus from either and observated of unappreciated pulmonary infection.
