Considerations of traditional medicine in combination with Western medicine and diagnostic approach

ABSTRACT

Traditional medicine has a preventive approach in its design. Diagnostic and therapeutic resources play a fundamental role in patient care. In Cuba, its generalizing use is hampered, by its methods. Its research way is influenced by the approach of evidentiary results. These aspects are discussed in this paper in the diagnostic field. A general and particular analysis of diagnosis is conducted by different authors and their personal experiences. It concludes with the importance of knowing the methods of traditional medicine and its implementation in our health care system.
