De Quervain’s syndrome as differential diagnosis of cervical radiculopathy

ABSTRACT

De Quervain’s syndrome refers to a tenosynovitis of thumb’s abductive tendons due to direct trauma or excessive hand and wrist using. Cervical radiculopathy refers to a pain associated to a neural compromise whatever is roots, plexus’s trunks or peripheral nerves, involving cervcical spine and one or both upper extremities. So far De Quervain’s syndrome is not included within cervical’s radiculopathy classification. A case of a 44 years old man is presented, which initial diagnosis was cervical radiculopathy and final diagnosis was De Quervain’s syndrome.
