ABSTRACT

Introduction. Carcinoids tumors of the small bowel represents only 1 to 2% of gastrointestinal neoplasm. Case report. This case is a patient with specific symptoms diagnosed by duodenal biopsy specimens, treated with complete resection. Discussion. Small bowel carcinoid tumors are diagnosed commonly in an advanced stage due the lack of specific symptoms. There is a direct relation between tumor size and risk of developing metastasis. Complete surgical resection is the standard treatment with overall survival rate at 5 years of 70-90%.
