Influenza A H1N1, oropharyngeal candidiasis, predictive indexes.

ABSTRACT

Severe influenza A H1N1 can complicate with bacterial infections but the association with oropharyngeal candidiasis has not been described. The clinical suspicion and early identification of this mycotic infection by identifying risk factors, documenting colonization and evaluating predictive indexes improve the diagnosis, prophylaxis and early treatment of Candidiasis. The objective of this publication is to present a case of severe pneumonia secondary to influenza virus A H1N1 that presented as an infectious complication a severe oropharyngeal candidiasis.
