ABSTRACT
Alimentary tract duplication is a structural defect characterized by arising of the antimesenteric surface and occasionally heterotopic mucosa is present. It is more common in terminal ileum and frequently is asymptomatic. Synchronous volvulus is a rare complication.
Reported case: We present a five year and four months male patient who suddenly suffered an acute abdominal syndrome. Laparotomy showed an ileum duplication and volvulus. A resection and intestinal anastomosis was performed. Clinical course was uneventful.
