ABSTRACT

Duplication of the inferior vena cava is an uncommon anatomical variant involving 0.5 to 3% of the general population, which has important clinical and radiological features in various medical areas Duch as aortioliac surgery, urological surgery, endocrine surgery in the assessment and interpreta tion of laboratory studies and recurrent episodes of pulmonary embolism. We presenta female patient who developed an event of deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism associated with duplication of the inferior vena cava.
