ABSTRACT

Bacterial meningitis is one of the most frequent pathologies received in the emergency department of pediatrics. The importance of timely diagnosis and initiation of treatment even before we have identified the causative agent is essential for the patient's prognosis and makes the difference between a healthy child and one with consequences that can be very serious and even cause the death of the patient.
