ABSTRACT

We present the case and review of the literature of an adolescent patient with pyomiositis and psoas abscesses. This entity is a suppurative bacterial infection that affects the skeletal muscle. Staphylococcus aureus is the principal etiological agent. Magnetic resonance imaging is the diagnostic gold standard. Treatment includes antibiotics and surgical drainage.
