Key words:

Neonatal thrombophilia, C protein deficiency.

ABSTRACT

Neonatal thrombophilia is rare condition, and presents as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism or sudden death. There are multiple causes and few neonatal reports. This condition was observed in a 30 gestational week newborn with 1460 g of weight, the surfactant obtained good response. At 14 days presents apneas and perfusion changes precipitate ventilatory assistance. The 2 central catheters had obstruction and install subclavian catheter, but neck edema appears. A Doppler ultrasound confirmed thrombosis of superior cava vein and pulmonary gammagraphy the embolismo. Fresh frozen plasma and enoxaparin was administered. Thromobophilic profile reported a normal fibrinogen, but C Protein = 14% and rise up to 39% even a 3 daily dosis of fresh plasma. A low S Protein and Antithrombin III levels, normalized alter treatment.
