ABSTRACT

Fourniers Gangrene is a type of necotizing fasceitis that produces fulminating destruction of tissue, systemic symptoms of toxicity and a high mortality rate. It must be suspected in patients with fever, toxicity, soft tissue compromise, and umproportional pain to the findings on skin. The diagnosis and proper treament should include early surgical intervention and repetitive surgical debridement to determine the extention of the disease and remove necrotic tissues, antibiotics and hemodinamic support. Empiric antibiotics should cover aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms.
