ABSTRACT

Introduction: A little information regarding cognitive development and its evaluation in childhood populations is disponible at the moment. Objectives: To standardize an abbreviate neuropsychological test in children from 7 to 10 years. Patient and methods: A group of 349 children with normal cognitive skill were studied. The score for each subtest and to whole test were determined by non’parametric statistic test. We also evaluated the effects of the age, sex and the possible influence of sociocultural origin in its score. The reliability test re-test, among neuropsychologist were studied. Each subtest’s score was validate acording to age of children. The reliability test re-test was known by the Sperman range correlation and the dependence of the total score by different subtest was analyzed step by step using multiple regression equation. The level of significance was considered to values of p ‹ 0.05. Results: The ACB showed a high reliability test re-test, and among different neuropsychologist p ‹ 0.05, the subtest (VII) showed a high correlations with Bender’s test p ‹ 0.05. Total score represent the maduration effects of the age p = 0.00.We have not found sex and socio-cultural influence on ACB’s score p › 0.05. Conclusions: The ACB score constitutes a easy, rapid and reliable minimental exam for children from 7 to the 10 years.
