ABSTRACT

There is done a review of the stages for which the neuropsychology has happened, from the foundational propositions up to the current search of new paradigms that explain the relations between the brain and the behaviour. There is discussed the problematics of the vocational training of neuropsychologists in Mexico; there is outlined the history of the program of residence in neuropsychology of the Programa de Maestria y Doctorado en Psicologia of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico that had his origin in the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Zaragoza. The mechanisms of selection are explained and other three programs of master’s degree in neuropsychology are enumerated, that they are offer in Mexico. There is denounced the existence of bad professional practices that there carry out psychologists that having dealed a graduate in neuropsychology or not at least it, they offer services of neuropsychology without having the training for it, since the neuropsychology demands a postgraduate education and a clinical supervised training.
