ABSTRACT

Emergencies that may arise during the evolution of hematologic diseases are diverse, owing to both, the course of the underlying disease and the time they are presented. They may be the first manifestation of the disease or occur in the course of its evolution. We present a clinical case where hyperviscosity syndrome with neurological manifestations becomes the onset for the diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a rare occurrence. The response was favorable after quickly providing the established medical treatment for these cases.
