ABSTRACT

The osteoblastoma is a benign rare osseous tumour of slow growing that commonly appears in vertebral column and in large bones. In the facial skeleton, the osteoblastoma appears in a 15%, preferently young adults (in a media of 22.45 years old) in mandible (71.6%). It is important to do differential diagnosis with osteoid osteoma, cementoblastoma, aggressive fibrous dysplasia, ossiifying fibroma and osteosarcoma because of the similar clinic behavior, radiology and histologic variables. In this paper we present a patient with an aggresive maxilar osteoblastoma treated with partial maxillectomy, and an analysis of reported cases.
