ABSTRACT

Auditory neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD) is a condition in which Auditory Brainstem Response is desynchronized, Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) and Cochlear Microphonic are present, stapedial reflexes are absent and hearing thresholds do not correlate with patient‘s hearing conduct. The most common cause is damaged inner hair cells, the second cause is damaged auditory nerve fibers and the third cause is damage to both structures. From a clinic point of view, there are variants such as transitory neuropathy or even the ANSD without OAEs. The present case is about this last kind of ANSD.
