ABSTRACT

Pheochromocytoma associated with pregnancy is rarely present, however, it has potential lethal consequences. The antepartum diagnosis improves perinatal and maternal outcome. The option of delivery has not yet been resolved and definitive treatment is surgical resection preceded by medical treatment.
Currently, the obstetric intensivist is involved and forced to integrate and coordinate the clinical management of endocrine crisis of pheochromocytoma in pregnancy, because this pathology compromises the stability of the binomial. He is also responsible for monitoring in critical care units in obstetrics, from the acute phase of postpartum until definitive treatment of the case. Below is a case of pheochromocytoma in pregnancy and its management in critical medical units in obstetrics.
