ABSTRACT

Identifying risk factors combined with periodontal disease to systemic disease like diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease are vital strategies of preventive medicine, low cost actions and to make a detection in time at the dental offices of some ailments in sub-clinical phase enhancing the expectancies of life quality. An evaluation was taken on the prevalecence of systemic pathologies on patients with periodontal disease a dental consultation through a retrospective study, observational, transverse, and analytical. The reviewed information was compiled by the postgraduate department of periodontics in Tampico at Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas, within a year period, analyzing by age groups, sex and detected pathology regarding the degree of periodontal disease based upon clinical indexes.
