ABSTRACT

A diversity of problems have been described, including pain, bleeding, airway obstruction and damaged mucosal surfaces or teeth, after that an intraoral piercing is pierced. A patient who presented severe mucogingival defects and speech troubles following tongue piercing is presented. A list of written post piercing recommendations of potential sequelae is incorporated. The authors impulse clinicians to instruct patients about the probable risks concerning the practice of oral piercing
