ABSTRACT
The present paper gives a riview fron the Colombian health system toward the new general system toward the new general system of social security by the 100/93 law. The application of the 100 law of 1993 meant a ardical change in the Colombian health medical model and as a new process has been criticized at diverse poin of view up to afirm that very few transformations in Colombia have awaked so many reactions from all Kind of people and groups. It is undoubtedly that the carry-on of a new health model requiris continued assessment and evaluation such as a way to detect the weak points at time and as result, appropiated solutions would be established. The success and the difficulties of the system are analyzed as well as the legislative approaches of the reform that are conducted at present in the country.
