ABSTRACT

Calciphylaxis is one of the less common entities among the complications of chronic renal failure. A case of a patient aged 52 years with end-stage renal disease secondary to hypertensive nephropathy is presented. He was a chronic alcoholic operated on for laryngeal carcinoma who underwent hemodialysis for 2 years and 6 months. The most prominent cutaneous lesions were erythematous plaques evolving to necrotic ulcerations on the distal part of the upper and lower limbs. Diagnosis was confirmed by biochemical studies and skin biopsy.
