ABSTRACT
Inverted nipple is a common problem and a challenging clinical condition for treatment. Multiple techniques have been described for its repair; however, many of them compromise its function. We designed a technique to repair or reconstruct it that includes traction and the application of stitches at the base of the nipple under local anesthesia, an easy and low-cost outpatient procedure. A total of six patients underwent the procedure; one patient was pregnant and five were not. They had subsequent appointments for control after 3, 8, 30 and 60 days. There were no complications with this procedure. Eversion of the nipple had a satisfactory outcome in the long run. The pregnant patient unfortunately abandoned her postoperative control. We present a simple, useful and reliable technique with no complications so far, and it is possible to use it during pregnancy itself.REFERENCES
